Math Challenge 2026-2027

General Information
Math Challenge program is an optional math enrichment program for Broadview Thomson students consisting of a series of challenging and interesting math problems. These math challenges cover problem solving strategies such as drawing a picture or model, making an organized list, looking for a pattern, working backward, and guess and check. Each challenge presents 10 to 18 problems ordered by level of difficulty which enables students from various grades to participate. Each challenge will indicate the minimum suggested number of problems to solve for each grade level.
How to Participate

Please email [email protected] and [email protected], if you have any questions!
- Click the “Current Math Challenge” button above to print it at home. Staple the pages together and complete it by the due date OR pick up a paper copy outside Room 216.
- Solve as many problems as you can. Each challenge lists the minimum number of problems required for your grade.
- Feel free to talk through strategies and solutions with friends and family. Try to attempt as many questions as possible!
- Turn in your completed challenge in the folder outside Room 216 to receive a prize.
- Make sure your name and grade are clearly written on your submission.
- Solutions will be posted two days after the due date so you can check your answers.

Recognition
Students who complete math challenges will receive small prizes throughout the year. Additionally, students who complete 10 or more challenges over the course of the school year will be awarded a certificate of achievement at the end of the year.
