General Information
Math Challenge is free for all students.
- Students in K to Grade 5 are invited to participate.
- There will be 15 challenges throughout the school year.
- Refer to the Schedule Calendar for problem release and due dates. No late entries can be accepted.
- This is a great opportunity for families to be involved and enjoy math through fun and engaging math problems. We encourage parents and siblings to get involved in discussing and solving the problems.
How to Participate
- Current Math Challenge pages will be available on this site. Feel free to print out the problems on your own. Mrs. Juran will have the current challenge page printed and hanging on the inside of the classroom door after they are released.
- On the current Math Challenge page, print your name and math teacher's name at the top of the page. If it helps you, print the due date also. You must stay up to date and complete the correct number of problems before the due date to enter that page. The Challenge does not allow late entries. All work must be submitted to the Math Challenge competition by the due date.
- Solve as many problems as you can. Be sure to pay attention to the minimum number of problems that are expected for your grade level. Remember, you are allowed to ask HUMANS for help (parents, siblings, teachers, etc.) on the problems, but must be able to explain your work to Mrs. Juran on your own.
- If you need help with strategies for solving the problems, visit PROBLEM SOLVING STRATEGIES for more information.
- Submit your solutions by dismissal. on the due date by placing the problems on Mrs. Juran's table in the GATE room, or by turning your paper into the office. Please make sure that your answers are neat and can be easily read.
- Once the solutions have been posted (click the blue button), you can check online to see the answers.
- Mrs. Juran will keep all completed papers in student folders. You may compare your answers to the released answers after they are posted. Recognition will be given for those who regularly participate!
- Questions? Please email Mrs. Juran at [email protected]
Happy Solving!
