Math Challenge 2025-2026 |
Math Challenge is a free math enrichment program for all Hemphill Elementary Hawks, especially encouraged for 2nd-5th graders. NO registration is necessary! There will be 15 sets of challenges published approximately every other week throughout the school year, and each set will present 10-18 problems ordered by level of difficulty.
How to Participate
- If completing on paper, grab a math challenge handout from the MATH CHALLENGE bulletin board in the hallway, immediately leading to the cafeteria. If referencing a digital copy, look for the section in Mrs. Howard’s weekly newsletter to families, the “Hawk Herald,” sent out every weekend, or find it on our Math Challenge website school page!
- Solve as many questions as you can. Please pay attention to the minimum number of questions required for your grade-level. Students are encouraged to ask for help if needed!
- Turn in your completed math challenge work to your homeroom teacher before that challenge’s Thursday deadline. Your homeroom teacher will deliver your challenges to Ms. Perez’s mailbox. If using a digital version of the math challenge, you may just turn in your answers and scratch work on a separate piece of paper—make sure to list your name, homeroom teacher, and grade-level!
- Check your solutions! Solutions will be posted on our math challenge website the Friday following submission deadlines.
