Welcome to the Cougars Count Math Challenge program! We are so excited for our whole school to embark on a math problem-solving journey together. The goal of Cougars Count is to create a vibrant community of thinkers. Let’s sharpen our math skills and have some fun together along the way!
Throughout the school year, there will be 15 sets of challenges that will put your mathematical abilities to the test. These challenges will be published every other week, starting in late September and continuing until May. Each set of challenges will present you with a collection of 10 to 18 problems of varying difficulty.

How to Participate
We want participation to be easy for everyone in our school! The challenges will be available online for your convenience, and you can also find them on the display outside the Math Room. You have the option to work on the challenges individually or team up with your classmates or family members. It's always more fun to tackle problems together!
Once you've solved the challenges and are feeling confident, it's time to submit your responses. Hand in your completed challenge to Ms. Robinson or Mrs. Herr or place it in the bin outside the Math Room on or before the challenge’s due date. We'll randomly select grade-level winners from the students who turn in their completed challenges. You might just be one of the lucky winners! We will also keep track of who participates in at least 12 of the challenges this year and award prizes to these mathletes. Finally, the classroom with the most participation all year will win a math party!
