General Information
- Math Challenge is free and no-sign up is necessary!
- All students Grade K to Grade 5 are invited to participate.
- There will be 15 challenges for the 25-26 school year.
- Refer to the Schedule Calendar for dates on when the solutions will be due.
Benefits
This program is designed to strengthen math fundamentals, critical thinking, problem solving skills, and confidence in math. This is a great opportunity for families to be involved and enjoy math through fun and engaging math problems. We encourage parents, and siblings to get involved in discussing and solving them.
How to Participate
Get the challenge
We will keep track of your submissions. We give recognition to students who complete at least 12 sets of challenges. Important Resources: Problem Solving Strategies: https://www.mathinaction.org/problem-solving-strategies.html.
- Visit the math challenge bulletin board on the wall near the office.
- Or print one from the website.
- Students are encouraged to try and solve extra problems.
- Ask for help and work together to discuss strategies to solve problems with parents, siblings, or classmates.
- At school, turn into your homeroom teacher or to the Math Challenge Tray in the library.
- Look for winners in the SRE newsletter or listen for announcements at school.
