THE WHO AND THE WHAT:

  • Who? You, a K-5 student at Wellington Elementary.
  • Challenge yourself and test your math skills with 15 challenges from September to May
  • Each challenge has a number of problems with increasing difficulty. Try as many as you can - feel free to
  • work with a partner, a sibling, or a grown-up.

THE WHY:

  • Many of these problems are based on real-life situations, so you now have an answer to “When am I going to use this!?”
  • Math is FUN and a great exercise for your brain.

THE HOW:

  • Get the current challenge by clicking "CURRENT MATH CHALLENGE" above.
  • EACH STUDENT participating needs to submit their own answers, even if working together.
  • You can choose to submit your answers on paper or online. DON’T FORGET LABELS/UNITS!
  • ONLINE: Fill out the linked Google Form with your answers by the deadline.
  • ON PAPER: Either grab a Math Challenge form from outside the Wellington office, or use any bit of paper you have at home. Make sure to include your first and last name, grade, teacher, and date/challenge number. When you’re done, put the form in the envelope in the PTA drawer in the office.
  • Check back for answers to the previous problem as you’re getting the next challenge.
  • Miss a challenge? No worries, do the challenges when you can. No sign up/registration necessary.
