Math Challenge is a free math enrichment program for all Wilson Elementary students, no registration is necessary!

There will be 15 sets of challenges published approximately every other week throughout the school year, and each set will present 10-18 problems ordered by level of difficulty.

How to Participate

  1. Print out the current math challenge or pick one up outside of the main office.
  2. Solve as many questions as you can. Please pay attention to the minimum number of questions required for your grade. Students are encouraged to ask for help if needed! You have the option to work on the challenges individually or team up with your classmates, or work together at home as a family. It's always more fun to tackle problems together!
  3. Once you've solved the challenges and are feeling confident, it's time to submit your responses. On, or before, the assigned due date, place your completed work in the Math Challenge bin outside of the main office. BE SURE TO WRITE YOUR FIRST AND LAST NAME AND YOUR TEACHER’S NAME ON YOUR CHALLENGE.
  4. To add a bit of excitement, for each challenge, we will randomly select winners for special prizes and recognitions. Be sure to turn in your challenge on time because you might be one of the lucky winners!
  5. Students who participate in at least 10 of the challenges throughout the year will receive a certificate at the end of the year!
Remember, math isn't confined to the classroom. Feel free to take the challenges home, discuss them with friends and family, and explore different approaches to problem-solving. The most important thing is to enjoy the process and HAVE FUN! Math can be thrilling when you approach it with curiosity and a sense of adventure. So, gear up, put on your thinking caps, and get ready for a math-tastic journey with the Math Challenge program. Let's create a community of enthusiastic math thinkers and discover the joy of mathematics together!
