Math in Action challenges our students beyond their daily math work by pushing kids to their maximum potential as well as encouraging them to develop out of box thinking, strategy and problem solving skills.
The program provides 15 sets of challenges throughout the school year; each set is published every other week starting in late September or early October and ending in May. These math challenges cover problem solving strategies such as draw a picture or model, make an organized list, look for a pattern, working backward, and guess and check. Each challenge presents 10 to 18 problems ordered by level of difficulties which enables students from various grades to participate.

How to Participate
PTA will ask parent to fill and turn in an ONLINE PARTICIPATION FORM early September. All students from K to grade 5 are welcomed to participate at the Math in Action Challenge program as long as their parents fill the PARTICIPATION FORM.
Same as last year, all the challenges need to be submitted online for scoring. Each Math Challenge will be available to submit answers on https://testinaction.azurewebsites.net/. Each participating student can register/login to the website and submit your answer when it's available online.
After the student has submitted the current challenge answers online, we will score them. Normally, there's two weeks between the challenge's available date and due date.
(Please Note: the paper copy for the math challenge will be available to print out either at http://www.mathinaction.org/apollo-elementary.html or when you login to the online system. However, please submit your answer to the online system, we do not accept paper copies for scoring.) ONLINE PARTICIPATE FORM
