General Information
- Math Challenge is free and no-sign up is necessary.
- All students K to Grade 6 are invited to participate.
- There will be 15 challenges throughout the school year.
- Refer to the calendar for dates on when the challenges and their solutions will be available on this webpage.
How to Participate
1) GET the Challenge. Visit the Math Challenge Bulletin Board for a copy or access it online the challenge by clicking the blue button, "CURRENT MATH CHALLENGE."
2) SOLVE as many problems as you can. You can skip around and solve problems in any order. Use a math notebook or scrap paper to work out solutions. Ask for help if you need it. We encourage you to discuss strategies with your family members or classmates.
Every grade-level has a recommended minimum number of problems to solve.
• Kindergarten and 1st Grade: Solve at least 3 problems.
• 2nd and 3rd Grade: Solve at least 7 problems.
• 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade: Solve at least 12 problems.
3) SUBMIT your answers on or before the due date! Place your math challenge in the return bin on the Math Bulletin Board outside the cafeteria.
4) BE RECOGNIZED for you hard work! Earn Top Dog tickets to use toward the Sheppy Shop!
