The program is completely free and no-sign up is necessary. All students K to Grade 5 are invited to participate in the Math Challenge program.

There will be 15 challenges throughout the year.

How to Participate

1.  GET the Current Math Challenge! You can access the Challenge from this website by clicking the button at the top of the page. You can then choose to work on it by viewing it or printing it out.
2.  SOLVE as many problems as you can! You can skip around and solve problems in any order. Ask for help if you need it. Discuss strategies and solutions with your parents and siblings.
Every grade level has a recommended minimum number of problems to solve.
  • Kindergarten and 1st Grade: Solve at least 3 problems.
  • 2nd and 3rd Grade: Solve at least 7 problems.
  • 4th and 5th Grade: Solve at least 12 problems.
3.  SUBMIT your answers! You can submit your answers on the Sycolin Creek Elementary School Google Form.

For each challenge, once you’ve completed the number of questions required for your grade-level:
  • Type your answers into the form.
  • Only type in answers for the problems you solved.
  •  Leave questions blank if you did not complete them.
4.  CHECK the Monthly Newsletter! Two of the Top Mathletes for each grade will be randomly selected each month. Look for your name in the Sycolin Creek Chronicle and PTA Monthly Update.
5.  BE RECOGNIZED for your hard work!  Complete 12 or more challenges and be recognized with a certificate of participation at the end of the year.
