General Information

Math Challenge program is an optional math enrichment program for Woodmoor Elementary students consisting of a series of challenging and interesting math problems. These math challenges cover problem solving strategies such as drawing a picture or model, making an organized list, looking for a pattern, working backward, and guess and check. Each challenge presents 10 to 18 problems ordered by level of difficulty which enables students from various grades to participate. Each challenge will indicate the minimum suggested number of problems to solve for each grade level.

• This is a great opportunity for families to be involved and enjoy math through fun and engaging math problems!
• All students in Kindergarten through Grade 5 are invited to participate.
• Math Challenge is free and no sign-up is necessary.
• There will be 15 challenges during the 2026-2027 school year.
• Students who complete math challenges will receive small prizes throughout the year.
• Refer to the Schedule Calendar for dates on when the challenges and their solutions will be available on this webpage.

MATH CHALLENGE TOURNAMENT Information

🧠 How to Participate

• Access the current challenge
  Use the link above (CURRENT MATH CHALLENGE) to view the latest Math Challenge set. New challenges are released every two weeks as per schedule below.
• Solve the problems
  Work independently or with family—show your thinking clearly.
• Submit your answers 
  - Print out the Math Challenge at home and complete by the due date. Please ensure that you include your name, grade, and teacher
  - Submit the completed Math Challenge papers via email ([email protected]) or in the designated Math Challenge Box at the front office by the due date listed.
• ​​​​Check solution
  The solutions will be released along with the next challenge. Students are encouraged to: review their work, learn different strategies, and reflect on their approach.

​🏆 Recognition

​Students who complete math challenges will receive small prizes throughout the year and a certificate of recognition at the end of the school year.
